I’ve run some tests on Volume today, and the images imported successfully every time.

Have you tried with the caching plugin turned off?

I’ve sent you an email with the debug.log with all the messages that appear during the import of the Volume site. I’ve imported the site while the SG Cache plugin was deactivated.
