Site layout moves upon first load

When my site is first loaded, it briefly pushes down the header and there is white space at the top before the layout adjusts and the header moves back up and displays properly. Because of this, Google has flagged all of my pages as "poor" for their Core Web Vitals metric. Is there a way to fix this?

I think I have the same issue and wonder if it impacts my CLS score. Hard to find much information on this one online.

Hi there,

the space where your logo will load is coming from your lazy loader. Try excluding the logo from the lazy loader to fix that.

Jeremy, that may be the case with you but there are lots of reasons this may occur - so you may want to raise a new topic where you can share a URL

Hi David,

Thanks! I'm going to make the adjustments.

Update: That definitely fixed it. Layout no longer jumps. Thanks so much!

Caitlin

You're welcome

I think I found my problem. It seems that I had Autoptimize set to inline and display above the fold CSS first and then delay the rest. Once I turned that off the noticeable shift seemed to go away.

Glad to hear you found the solution!
