January 20, 2019 at 6:12 pm #787458TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
It seems you sent your WP.org login info instead of your website. Any chance you can create a temporary admin user account inside your own website (yourwebsite.com/wp-admin) and then send that to us?
I took a look at the front-end of your website, and everything looks fine to me. What URLs do you have set in “Settings > General”?
January 21, 2019 at 4:37 am #787718DavidStaffCustomer SupportSo if you run the Velvet Blue and tell it to switch all URLS to HTTPS what does it do?
January 21, 2019 at 5:27 am #787759Steve HainesHi David
It does Nothing.
All the permalinks are http and the media library. All images are http …
My host Siteground did something a month or so ago?
I use their plugin optimiser.
I sort of noticed the chain of redirects then.
The reason it’s concerning is My Rankings Locally were Page One.
I’m plunging like a stone since I’ve been updating my site. Republishing Pages and Posts in a frantic attempt to get back.
All to no avail …
Something drastic has happened to affect my rankings. I’m sure this has something to do with it.
I have sent you my login details, and I would be happy to pay for help with this issue.
Siteground said that it’s a coding issue?
That’s why I contacted you intially.
Warmest regards
Steve
January 21, 2019 at 6:06 am #787791DavidStaffCustomer SupportI have logged in – the site runs across HTTPS fine aside from a couple of HTTP images. But as you say the dashboard is reporting all URLs as HTTP. Very odd and not something i have come across.
Can you push the Site to a Staging Site ( Siteground has a one click staging in their CPanel ) then we can try deactivating some of the plugins and running the Velvet Blue.
January 21, 2019 at 6:18 am #787807Steve HainesHi David
I’v explained before as a non techy, this is way beyond my capabilities.
I have learnt what little bit i do know, from watching thousands of hours of little youtube videos.I’d be happy for any assistance and i would be happy to pay for the help with the matter.
Is it something you could offer David?

January 21, 2019 at 6:41 am #787829DavidStaffCustomer SupportI think before we go down that route as we have very little capacity to do bespoke work, give this plugin a shot:
January 21, 2019 at 6:59 am #787957Steve HainesHi David
I forgot to mention that I had a Simple SSL Plugin in operation when i switched from 123reg to Siteground.I deleted it because I thought I no longer needed it.
However; I must have had a different one than the one you are recommending.
Because I have just installed it and when I went to activate. I had a pop up from Siteground saying that you already have conflicting data in our system.
So i deleted it …
I’m not sure which one i had?
Also it asks for the ssl certificate which I paid for with 123reg and Siteground said keep the simple SSL Plugin when you switch over.
So at some point i slimmed my plugins down and deleted it.
January 21, 2019 at 7:04 am #787963DavidStaffCustomer SupportCan you speak to Siteground and ask them what SSL certificate is attached to the Domain?
The issue maybe that the redirects are occuring from the old certificate and it would be better that they register the SSL certificate and assign it at their level.January 21, 2019 at 7:28 am #787989Steve HainesHi David
Will do
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.
And your continued support with this problem.
I really appreciate your help.
Warmest regards
Steve
January 21, 2019 at 7:53 am #788018DavidStaffCustomer SupportYou’re welcome. I am just mindful that we could be trying fixes or workarounds and it could be related to the SSL certificate.
