Hi There ….
I’m wondering if this is something that GP might be able to assist me with?
My site is slow and there are lots of redirects slowing it down.
My host is Siteground …. I moved my site to them from 123reg with http and a simple ssl plugin
However siteground has it’s own plugin now which i’m running.I contacted them to see if this redirect issue could be eradictated by them?
This is what they said …. Below

Hello Steve,Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.
I checked the case and indeed your site is being requested first as http:// then as https:// and then as https://www.
I executed a search-replace command which is supposed to replace all such database entries with only https://www.
However this was the result from the server:
Code:
Success: Made 0 replacements. It appears that the redirection is coming from somewhere else in your site coding. Please note that we are not the developers of your site and we are not familiar with its coding and configuration. We are not familiar with its plugins, themes and internal functions. Therefore we will not be able to assist you with this issue. At this point I can only suggest you to consult with a profecional developer about this.
In case you do not have a trusted developer, I recommend you turn to our partner Codeable. Codeable is a WordPress exclusive freelancer platform that connects thousands of customers like you with WordPress freelance experts to work on WordPress projects of any size. We recommend them for the high-quality of development services they offer. As a SiteGround client, you’ll get a $60 discount on your first project posted with Codeable. If you are interested, you can find more information on this page: https://codeable.io/partners/siteground/?ref=bJHj2.
Of course if any further server-sided assistance is required please contact us again.

January 19, 2019 at 8:59 am #786394DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
i am not seeing the issue, i just tested your site and it is loading from HTTPS. I also ran a GTMetrix test against it from a UK server and the Site is loading in 1 second.
Try clearing your browser cache or opening the site in a private / incognito browser and let me know.

Many thanks for the reply ….
This is the GTMetrix report just done right now and the site loaded in 2.9 seconds.
These are the problems below and my host Siteground have confirmed the problem is http to https and also non www. to www. are all causing issues.

January 20, 2019 at 4:39 am #786884DavidStaffCustomer SupportSo OK it just a handful of image – this plugin works 9/10 times:

GTMetrix defaults to a Canadian server so 2.9 secs is still good. If you register ( for free ) you can select a UK server 🙂

January 20, 2019 at 8:06 am #787091DavidStaffCustomer SupportDid that resolve the issue?
We are all still learning 🙂 it never stops in this field.January 20, 2019 at 8:14 am #787095Steve HainesHi David
I backed up the site.
I tried it!
Ticked ALL the boxes. It doesn’t seem to make any difference.???
If you go into my permalinks they’re all.
HTTPSame if you go into the Media Library.
If i upload a brand new image it will be HTTP and not HTTPS
So then it has to be converted.I thought when I switched over to HTTPS everything else would change?
Obviously not.
Unfortunately.I’ve switched GTMetrix to London.
Great tip David!Thank you!
This technical stuff frustrates the life out of me.
Warmest wishes
Steve
January 20, 2019 at 8:22 am #787101DavidStaffCustomer SupportOdd – the site link you provided looks 100% HTTPS ( at least on the front page ) including those couple of images. Do you want to send us a temporary admin so we can take a look?
If so send it via the Account Issue form, please add the URL to this topic so we can track:
