Very odd. Described below in detail with screenshots. Sincere thanks in advance for assistance.
1.
new element – block – content template
Display – all post 840 px wide container

Dynamic feature image.. Dynamic title / content, categories buttons etc
Layout container 100% with image on top; content next row, etc
840 wide container leaving 300 px open for sidebar. (Content/sidebar)2.
New element – block – hook – generate_before_right_sidebar_content
Display – all post 300px wide container

I duplicated the element in number 2 above and placed in above the footer hook on a single blog post just for a screen shot so you can see what this would look like. Just imaging it in portrait view.

Your blog page and single post page are set to
no sidebar.Go to customizer > layout > sidebar, check the settings, if the settings are correct, go to appearance > elements, check if there’s a layout element which sets blog and posts to no sidebar.
By the way, the editor width is only to give you an idea when you are editing the element, it only effects the editor, the value won’t reflect on front end.

No, the blog page is set to no side bar.
The single post page is set to content / side bar.
This should work, yes.
Oh wait. In car on iphone. Will look when on desktop for layout element and get back to you.
