Sidebar missing from blog page but showing on blog posts
3 replies · Started by Helen on April 7, 2017
Hello Tom,
I'd be grateful for your assistance please. The sidebar is not showing on the blog page on my site at http://ichp-hypnotherapy.com/blog/.
The default layout for the site is no sidebar, but the blog page has sidebar settings to show content/sidebar for sidebar layout. I thought that this would override the default layout but unfortunately not.
However I have used the same setting on the individual blog posts and the sidebar shows up fine on all the posts for example on http://ichp-hypnotherapy.com/report-prof-denis-ryans-presentation-1st-april-2017/.
Any ideas on how to get the sidebar to show on the main blog page much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Helen
Hi Helen,
This is the setting you used I assume? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sidebar-layout/
Looking at the code of the site, it still says the setting is No Sidebar for the blog page.
Can you try clearing WP Super Cache first?
Hi Tom,
Thanks for your reply. I've solved it now, I had the on-page settings to content/sidebar, but hadn't changed the customizer settings from no sidebar for the blog page.
Many thanks for your time.
Kind regards,
Helen
ahh yes WordPress ignores all meta boxes on index pages by default (blog, archive etc.)
Glad it's working!
