    Hi there,

Conventionally I have seen that the posts in the blog page are sorted based on recency of publication i.e. the latest ones are shown on the top. However, I came across a website that has segregated their posts based on categories under different headings, such that the posts are sorted based on the category.

As you can see, they have created a category named “recommendation” and the latest 3 posts of that category are shown under the heading “Latest recommendation. They have done the same by creating a category called “alternative” and then posting the latest 3 posts of that category under the heading “Alternative and similar recommendations”

I love this way of categorizing the blog posts under category headings. I would love to know how to achieve that on my generatepress blog page. Thanks.

    Hi there,

the easiest method and how that site is built is to create a static page and then use either the Query Loop Block or a plugin like WP Show Posts to display the separate lists of posts. You can then add your own headings and other content between those lists.

Thanks for the reply David, I understand how to create a static page and also the logic behind your answer.

I’m not that well versed with the “Query loop” or the “Wp Show posts” plugin that you shared. Is there any documentation with instructions that you have which could help me achieve the same?

    Thanks for your time.

You can find info on using WP Show posts here:

    https://wpshowposts.com

But note the notice – we are going to be merging this into GenerateBlocks this year.

The Query Loop is new to WordPress and they provide docs for that here:
