Hi Nick,

If you just want posts on your front page, you can set it to display your posts in "Settings > Reading" (Front page displays: your latest posts).

If you want a mixture of page content and posts, I like this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/

Yea that plugin needs some CSS sometimes.

Show me what you have so far and I should be able to help out a bit :)
