Show posts with features image as background

Hi there
I want to show some posts at my front page. I am using WP Show Posts. I want to have the featured image of the post to be the background image of the container for the post and then the text on the featured image. I do not see settings for it in the back end. Are there any filters to make customizations in the generated HTML for the post view?
