Ella
So I’m trying to edit the homepage and I changed the “Standard” show post that comes with the theme to only show those with the tag “homepage” so that I can swap and change my favourite blog posts on the top there, but it’s now showing the “homepage” tag on the homepage part. How can I hide this so that people can’t see it please?
See here: https://www.totallypurrfect.com
I also then edited and renamed the bottom show post to show just the Category “training”… That’s the only thing I changed, however, the posts weren’t showing up. I thought it was perhaps because the training posts were also featured above in the “homepage” tagged section (although that shouldn’t be an issue I don’t think!), so anyway… I took the tag of the training posts just incase and they’re still not showing up, but – strangely – there’s now a bigger gap below, before the footer, as if more posts should be there.
I’ve tried clearing the cache, but it’s still happening. Can you tell me what I need to do to fix this please?
Thanks so much,

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you would need to edit several of the WP Show Posts lists.
See here for a full list of them, and where they are located.https://gpsites.co/dispatch/using-wp-show-posts/
Note the magazine style hero list is titled: Header.

What do I need to edit in what way please? Sorry, I’m a little confused!

StaffCustomer SupportOoops sorry i didn’t provide the link:
https://gpsites.co/dispatch/using-wp-show-posts/
To cover, lets assume these lists will show only posts of a specific category term:
Header
( Magazine grid )
Sidebar
( Sidebar card )
Simple
( Sidebar small thumbnail )If you edit each of those lists, you can select Taxonomy > Category and the term you want them to display.
Then for your
Standard
List we can exclude those same terms so we don’t get duplicates, you can edit that and:1. select Taxonomy > Category and check all the Terms you used in the above lists.
2. go to the More Settings tab and set the Tax Operateor toNOT IN
So you can have a bunch of different lists that show posts of a specific category.
And then from your main list, exclude those categories using theNOT IN
Tax OperatorDocumentation: http://docs.generatepress.com/

Okay, thanks, will try to give it a go! Can you just confirm why my training posts aren’t showing up though please? As I set that to show a category and on my other blog (using the same theme) I’m pretty sure I’ve had posts showing up in multiple categories on the homepage before and it wasn’t a problem, so I don’t super understand it!

This is what I don’t understand – so now I’ve got the top show post showing those in the category Featured. It’s not ideal as it then displays “Featured” which I didn’t want. So it’s the same as the tag… But anyway… I have that and I have a post there that’s in the top latest posts features AND it’s duplicated below in this first section… and doesn’t have a problem with that.
The DIY section is fine. That’s set to show the posts in the DIY category and it’s showing up fine.
It’s then the Training category… I have 2 training blog posts that you should see in the training section. When I set it as normal, it shows nothing; when I add the “not in” thing from “more settings” it then shows 1 post – but not a training post, a post from the “recommendations” category that’s completely unrelated. So I’m pretty baffled!
Let me know what you think…
Thanks so much,

StaffCustomer SupportAah ok…
Edit the Training list, and in More Settings:
1. Remove the value from the
Offset
field. Its currently set to 4 so it will skip the first 4 posts.
2. Set the Tax Operator toIN
