Show only specific categories on Frontpage?

If I only want to show 5 of 7 different Post categories on the frontpage, how would I do that?
Hmm, this plugin hasn't been updated in a while, but it looks like it does what you're looking for: https://wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-category-excluder/
