Show Blog excerpt on home page

Hi Guys
I have a shortcode [wp_show_posts id="4235"] on my home page showing the latest blog articles X 3.(Latest Articles)
How do I add the excerpt under the images?
Also please advise the best image size to use as a featured image that works well with the Hero for the post and is a great size for the home page.

Hi there,
in Dashboard > WP Show Posts edit the List, and in the Content tab you can choose to display the Excerpt.
Image size, personally i cut it at 1200px wide even for those wide hero images, unless the client wants really hi res stuff and then i go larger.
