Ok Tom and team, I have a challenge for ya’ll (at least it has been a challenge for me).
A little background first. I’m trying to make my site a bit more dynamic (hence less work for me) by using elementor`s Post Widget, which gives me a query choice of showing Categories and Tags.
Here is a pic: http://prntscr.com/j0hvdl (it’s in portuguese by I added “categories” so you know)
Now although that is wonderful feature from Elementor, I wish they would also add Location on those options (I believe would add a new taxonomy). But since they don’t have it, I have to play with the cards I’m dealt. Therefore I chose tags to be my “location.”
Now here comes the challenge (for me at least). I would like to show that tag as a text.
Here is a pic: http://prntscr.com/j0hwrs
I’m not sure how to do that. Do I use a custom plugin or CSS or PHP? How can I add that Tag (since it’s only one) there and be able to edit it’s style?
Thank you for your time and looking forward to your reply!
Felipe
April 3, 2018 at 7:54 pm #540445LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Not sure if I understand what you are after but if those contents are created from Elementor then you will need to ask their support.
GP has no control over contents from Elementor.
Let me know if this helps.
April 4, 2018 at 4:20 am #540779FelipeLeo,
In GP personalize, I can show/hide tags and categories like this: http://prntscr.com/j0p96w
And it shows like this: http://prntscr.com/j0p847
So as far as I understand about wordpress, theme and plugins (which is elementary), the tags are part of the theme, am I correct?
If so, I would like to be able to move it to a specific place in the post and be able to edit it. Because as is, it will show on the bottom.
So my question is, how do I show the tag on each post, move it to a specific location, and edit to look like the rest of my theme?
Thank you
April 4, 2018 at 8:39 am #541065LeoStaffCustomer SupportYou are correct. Those are displayed by GP. The screenshots with Elementor confused me.
You can’t actually edit those tags, it is coming from the tags you added when creating the posts.
Can you link me to the page with those tags showing and let me know where you want to move them and how you would like to edit their style?
April 4, 2018 at 9:14 am #541109FelipeHere is an example post I created… the tag is all the way on the bottom before the footer. I also wrote where the tag should be (Tag Location) and that is the font size and color I wanted.

Is there a way to create a shortcode for it, then I would be able to use Elementor’s shorcode widget to place it in the future posts.
April 4, 2018 at 12:41 pm #541284LeoStaffCustomer SupportHmm doesn’t Elementor have a way to insert tag and category etc if you are using it for single posts?
I would recommend checking with them first to keep the style consistent.
Let me know.
April 5, 2018 at 7:01 am #541903FelipeLeo,
I will email Elementor, but wouldn`t this be part of the theme?
What is the code in php to show a tag?
April 5, 2018 at 11:22 am #542227TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperSince the tags are a part of the post, and Elementor is displaying the posts, it would be ideal to display the tags using Elementor as well.
If Elementor has a hook within their posts module, we could hook the tags into it. However, I’m not sure if that’s something they have.
April 5, 2018 at 1:34 pm #542345FelipeThanks Tom. I will try Elementor support.
