Shortcodes or page builder

Hi Tom,
I would like to use a shortcode plugin like “shortcodes ulitmate” https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcodes-ultimate/

Or perhaps even a drag and drop page builder like WP bakery visual composer
https://vc.wpbakery.com/

with Generatepress premium on a new project.

I realise this adds extra load on the site but, as i am still slowly building my coding capabilities, one of these would help me a lot right now for the visual side of things. Do you have any views or preference yourself regarding compatibility with Generatepress or have any other recommendations ?

I will also be using the combination of avdvanced custom post type UI and advanced custom fields on the site as i’m focusing on learning those right now.

Hi there,

I prefer Beaver Builder or Thrive Content Manager over VC – but they’re all good and definitely help with the layout of your pages (even though they are all quite bulky).

Pretty sure you can use Shortcodes Ultimate inside of those page builders as well if necessary 🙂
