This is a bit of an odd question, I realize, but the Health Check and Troubleshooter seems to say it is theme related. Probably recent too.
We have 2 plugins, Staff List Pro and Shortcoder. Now putting Shortcoder into the Staff List Pro plugin (which is then generating it’s own shortcode to create each individual’s profile page) was working fine. The Shortcoder plugin we had a ‘review’ code. Pasting that shortcode into a field in Staff List Pro enabled the review on the profile page without the javascript being stripped.
Now suddenly that review is just showing as a shortcode. Switching to a default WordPress theme like 2022 allows it to work again. Oddly enough it also works if it’s pasted in an ordinary post or page. Do you know if there was anything in a recent Generatepress update that might interfere with these plugins?
I know it’s an odd question. But since it works in the default theme, it seems our favored Generatepress theme is what is having an issue with it somehow.

I see. What recent change did you make recently?
Do you have any custom PHP snippets?
To make sure it’s not a plugin or custom code related issue, can you try temporarily deactivating all non-GP plugins and custom PHP snippets as well?
Let us know how it goes.

That is what we did first thing.
Using Health Check and Troubleshooter, I turned off everything. Then I re-enabled just the Staff List Pro and the Shortcoder. They worked fine on the front and back end. Then I re-enabled Generatepress. At this time all the other plugins were still disabled. I refreshed the page and instantly, the Reviews Shortcode vanished. Switch back to a default WordPress theme and the Reviews come back.It is a live site so of course, I had to use the Health Check and Troubleshooter plugin rather than disable things directly. Everything, child theme, custom snippets, was off at the time of the test.
Also can confirm it worked Oct 25th. I think both Generatepress and the Shortcoder updated after that.

StaffCustomer SupportWill you be able to create a staging site and send us the admin credential so we can do some digging?
Let us know!

Step 1. Go to the shortcoder, get one of those name codes with the reviews (as you showed) and copy it.
Step 2. Go down to Staff List Pro and select Members. Choose a Member.
Step 3. When you open the Member it will open on Staff page editing. On the left will be a list of tabs. One of these goes to the Single Page edit. Scroll down that to staff profile and that is where we pasted the shortcoder in and hit update. The easiest way to find whatever person you put it in and check after that is to go to the Home Loan Advisors page and search by first name. When they come up on that page it has a little ‘profile’ link under the picture to check it.

StaffCustomer SupportI tried switching to twenty-twenty-one, twenty-twenty and Astra, but it doesn’t work in all of these themes.
It only works with twenty-twenty-two and twenty-twenty-three which are Full Site Editing themes.
Can you confirm this is the case on your side as well?
If that’s the case, I would suggest reaching out to the plugin support and ask why the shortcode only works in the FSE themes, is there a workaround to make it work in non-FSE themes?
Let me know!

Just to get back to you, whatever it is the code no longer works in the text/classic editor part of that plugin. But it did work when I added a shortcode field in the staff list pro and tried it there.
So we found a fix though we still don’t know what exactly changed.January 6, 2023 at 6:35 pm #2486550Ying
