    Hello , i’m new to GP / Premium and i’m having trouble figuring out the hero / navigation with this theme.

    My website: http://new.youfit.xyz/

    How to –

    1. Set sticky navigation background height – currently it is too thin

    2. Set transparency

    3. Navigation spacing to the right as well as above – currently it is right up against the right side, and extra spacing above

    4. Bold navigation menu text

    5. Increase parallax effect of hero image – I would like it to slide up and down as much as this website’s hero http://daynewilliams.com

    Hi there,

    1. Currently the sticky menu uses the primary menu sizes: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/menu-item-height-width/

    2. You can use the transparency slider while setting the primary navigation colors (Customize > Colors > Primary Navigation), or you can use the page header advanced settings to force transparency.

    3. You can set the inner container of the navigation to contained: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-layout/

    The extra spacing above is your empty header. You can hide the header if you don’t intend on using it with some CSS:

    .site-header {
        display: none;

    4. You can do this in Customize > Typography > Primary Navigation.

    5. From what I can see, the GP parallax effect is more aggressive than on your site – but they have a slightly different effect. The parallax options in Page Header and Sections is going to be improving in an upcoming version.

    1. Done

    2. There is no transparency slider in colors under primary navigation?

    5. The one I am using on DayneWilliams.com is not parallax, its actually just a fixed image, correct? Whatever the correct name for it, that is what I am trying to achieve but I can wait for the update.

    Also, is there a custom CSS code I can use to make the navigation have more height when the sticky header is not active, as on my website DayneWilliams.com

    If you notice the height on http://new.youfit.xyz reduces slightly when the sticky header is called in.

    Another observation is my browser is scrolling passed the navigation before the sticky kicks in , on DayneWilliams.com it smooths in quite nicely.

    2. The transparency slider is the one on the right: https://www.screencast.com/t/A1023a9Xy6

    5. You can set it to fixed quite easily with some CSS:

    .generate-content-header {
        background-attachment: fixed;

    Currently the sticky navigation and static navigation have the same height value. There will be new sticky navigation height options in the next version.

    To stop the sticky delay, you can set your transition to “None”: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/sticky-navigation/
