[Support request] Setting the Footer so it only has 3 columns of widgets

Hi,

I’ve tried setting the footer to only show 3 columns of widgets by changing “Footer Widgets” to 3 but it doesn’t change anything.

My settings look like:

Yet for some reason the columns don’t get updated, I’ve tried 1 column, 5 columns… no difference.

Hi there,

check the other places that these settings can be overidden.
First is within the Post Editor using the Layouts Meta Box:

Secondly is the Layout Element – which does the same thing but uses conditional display rules:

The setting needs to be set to default for the Customizer settings to apply.

If the entire site has the same # widgets then it is likely the Layout Element
