Setting template to Elementor Canvas

Hi,
I would like to create a new template on a Elementor Canvas template.
I have clicked on Elementor > my Templates > add new - but GP theme does not give me the option to chose templates - it pulls in all default settings.
How can I get the template on a Elementor Canvas?

Hi there,
I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Elementor Canvas removes all of GP's elements so none of GP's elements should apply and the customizer options won't work.

To clarify my question: I would like my footer template to be designed on an Elementor Canvas.
I have used a different theme, it gives me there option to choose Template>Elementor Canvas - I don't see this option on GP - is there a way I can still set up my footer template on a blank background?

Elementor made a change with 2.0 and the introduction of Template builder, which removed the function to select the template. I raised this on github many weeks ago, yet no adequate response. If you would like to raise the issue there they may do something about it:
