Hi Tom – this is just the thing, thank you! I’ve wanted this a few times so I know I’ll be reusing this one, too. Thank you!!

Hi Tom – I ran into a snag applying this to the home page. Any suggestions on why this might not work on the home page?

    Thanks,
    Katie

Hi Tom – sorry, that last question wasn’t at all specific. The problem is that on the front page, the custom template isn’t applying when “use sections” is set to true (it is applying when “use sections” is set to false).

What is different about the home page that might be causing this?

    Thank you,
    Katie

Is the home page a static page or your posts page?

    Static page.

Weird, it should act the same as all other static pages.

You said the custom template is applying when Use Sections is set to false?

It is. Not sure why but this filter I set up at the beginning of this thread didn’t apply to the front page. I hacked around it by, in generate-sections-page-template.php, just by hand directing to a different template if this is the front page.

That’s very weird, I can’t think of any reasons why. Glad you found an alternative ๐Ÿ™‚
