I wrote about this issue 7 months ago. I see that many people have issues about the #more tags.

Can you please make an Generate Press UPDATE, to fix this issue?

We do not want to install a 3rd party plugin (that doesn’t even work), to add one line of code.

Can you please fix the #more issue? Furthermore, please fix the duplicate page issue for the Generate Press plugin.

SEO is crucial to any business and we should not get duplicate content because of the Generate Press plugin.

I would be surprised if search engines were penalizing websites for duplicate content because their blog archives have an excerpt of the content from the single post. This would be a WordPress thing more than a theme thing.

I did a search for "WordPress archives duplicate content" and found quite a lot of information. This post was interesting: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/duplicate-content-between-categories/#post-11375451

I see you're using Yoast on your site. They set the canonical URL for you automatically along with next and previous links: https://yoast.com/features/canonical-url-tags/

You can see they mention pagination in there. Since they set the canonical URL for each page, it shouldn't be viewed as duplicate.

Of course, you should also be able to use Yoast to noindex your archives if you want to avoid the issue completely.

I will use Yoast plugin to noindex my archives.

Nonetheless, can you please make an update of the Generate Press Theme to get rid of the ugly #more tags?

Myself and many others, like to have clean URL's on our websites.

Isn't it an easy process for you to do that? I think a few lines of code should solve this issue.

Some people like the #more links, but you can easily disable it like this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_more_jump/
