[Resolved] Search-Only in Nav Bar (no menu)

On my https://b8a.me test site, I only want Search in the nav bar because I like how it looks compared to the widget. I have no Menu items, nor do I want any.

But it doesn’t give me the nice slideout or text area to the left. It types right over the X to close the search box. I’m using GP 3.0.1, and only two plugins: GB 1.1.2 and GBP 1.12.2

Is there a way to allocate space to the left of the Search magnifying glass so I can type in my search term?
