    I have changed to text shown in the Search Box on my website but the new box is not large enough to show all the text. I want to make the box longer or use a smaller font for the text.

    I want the Search box to show ‘Search Church and Cemetery only’. At the moment it only displays ‘Search Church and Cemet’. I would appreciate any ideas.

    This is my only remaining problem. I’ve been delighted with GeneratePress.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris, try this CSS:

    .widget .search-field {
        width: 300px;
    }

    Hi Sridhar – my URL is http://www.thornburyroots2.co.uk/

    Hi Tom – thanks for getting back so quickly. I added the CSS and it made no difference. I even tried with increased width settings and it had no effect.

    I edited the code above, can you add this, and clear any caches (including server) let me know.

    Sorry David I did reply, but it is not showing in the thread. I have changed the CSS code as per your revised instructions. I managed to clear the cache from my browser. Clearing the server cache was more difficult – my host GoDaddy has withdrawn their Website Accelerator tool. I have just installed WP-Super Cache plugin and deleted the cache.

    However I’m still unable to see any change to my Search Box.

    Hi Chris, ok the CSS is definitely not being loaded. Where are you adding the CSS? Is there other code above it? If so can you put this code at the very top.

    I’m sorry to be such a nuisance. I’ve added the CSS using the Simple Custom CSS plugin and moved the code to the top. Still no change in the Search Box. I’d be happy to make you a temporary admin user if that would help.

    Sorry for the delay in responding. I have only just seen your message. I have posted a message on the Pre=Sales contact facility.
