Hello GeneratePress.

I received support on the following thread https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/rtl-ltr-sidebar-issue/ which was a sidebar issue. David advised some CSS to unset the sidebars, which worked out due to caching issues.

I have recently noticed that on odd occasions, the language of the body text gets cached incorrectly, just like the sidebar issue, which was fixed, is there some CSS trick to do what was done with the sidebar with unset? I tried a few things, did not work correctly, but I am not a CSS person.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly I disabled those languages, and I cleared the cache, its not 100%, its random, so getting it to repeat can take a while, and compromises the entire site if I go away for awhile.

Its like all the body text and divs and right centered on other pages like german, its odd very odd, similar to the sidebar, but that was sorted out awhile ago and works great now.

Anything I can sort of maybe test? If I get no complaints for a few days, then I know its working.

Hi there,

how is the caching being performed ? Is it a server cache or via a plugin ?
As ideally the problem needs to be fixed at the cache.

Let me know.

Sadly it is not just that straightforward, I think cloudflare is the biggest culprit when caching these files, and anyone knows they do not help you unless you are an enterprise customer. also, this issue occurs david, with all Wordpress caching plugins. I use nginx server-side caching anyway, which happens on this as well. I think the issue is that the way generatepress sets out its rlts, it just messes up with translation services and caching in some really weird way I have not been able to figure out even checking the har file, I use gtranslate.io, but trialed weglot which is the same thing just double the price, and it occurred with them as well.

the only option is to disable all Cloudflare file caching features and serverside, which cannot happen, and I would also point out this only occurs on my generatepress website, another site I use the same setup without generatepress never had a single issue, even previously with the sidebars that did not even occur and I do not want to do an entire theme change when I am quite happy with generate press for this particular website.

thanks anyway; you can close this ticket.

Let me pass this by Tom, if theres something the Theme could do better then we would definitely want to investigate.
Is that ok with you?

Is there any way you can take a screenshot of the issue when you come across it next? This will at least allow us to know what to look for as we test.

Thanks!

Hi Tom, David

Thanks for the reply; what I will do this weekend since I will have a lot more time, is take screenshots; I will even save the HTML for the pages and make it available for you to review; that may get you a better insight.

Can we keep this open for the next few days?

Thanks.

Yes, of course, we'll keep the topic open as long as its required.
Just reply when you have time. And thanks again !
