Right Sidebar with Text on Thumbnail

Hi there,

You can use the query loop block of GenerateBlocks, and add it to a GP block element - sidebar.

For the date, you'll need to write custom function of try looking for a plugin which does that.

We test what you said but we can not select which category to show in post

We can not find how to show date, author and excerpt on the feature image, maybe some custom CSS code.

The rest it is ok, it has the format that we are looking for except that we want the title, date and excerpt on the feature image.

Or the Excerpt, date and title to have as a background the feature image.

select the Container Block, and in its Dynamic Settings, set the Background image to display the Featured Image.
Then your content will sit on top of the image. you can then remove the image block.

Yes is working, but we have a problem:

1. If we remove excerpt (or put only a few words) and leave only the title, the feature image is small - it does not preserve the format. Because some post have a small excerpt the feature images on the sidebar on some posts does not have the same format (height)

2. How can we make the excerpt occupy only half of the future image and the feature image have (preserve) the same height or a specific format height x width in all sidebar ? We want to reduce the length of the excerpt but the image retain the height or a specific with x height on all feature images from sidebar.

You can select the Container Block, and in its Spacing you can set its Minimum Height.

Ok, is working, but can you tell us :

1. How to remove Read more text ?
2. How to make the date to be near the Author (please check the image below) ?
3. How to make the Excerpt to be on the bottom of the future Image ?
4. How to select only a Category in Sidebar? (this is important)

If I use the Padding does not move exactly at the bottom , maybe because of the Read more Text?

1. I found out how , please I need help on the others.

1. Select the Headline block that is displaying the Excerpt.
In it Dynamic Data options there is a toggle: Use default more link uncheck that.

2. Select the Headline with the Author and in its Spacing - select Inline Width and set the Right Margin to 5px.
Then select the Headline with the date and in its Spacing - select Inline Width

3. Select the Headline with the excerpt and its Toolbar click the Down button to move it below the other headlines:

How can we do this?

1. Remove that space (please check the image below)?
2. Darkened ONLY the half of the image where the excerpt is, so the text to be more clear?
3. How do you include the image with your info directly in the post here to be visible ?

1. Headline Blocks will attract Bottom Margin from the Themes settings.
Select a Headline Block and in Spacing > Bottom Margin type in 0 or a small number.

NOTE: That additional space is automatically added by the editor to show the + block appender ( your top left image ), that space is not there on the front end.

2. Select the Headline Block, with the excerpt and give it a Color > Background - you can make the color semi opaque

3. I use Techsmith Capture for my screenshots, its links are auto embeded. So it does it for me :)

I need to darkened the half of the bottom image not just the excerpt, doesnt look good.

I know i have to use on post template - background - image gradient with color 1 and 2, stop position, etc - but i can not get the bottom half darker and the top clear.

How can i do it ?

With the Gradient.
Set the angle to 180 degrees
Then for example colors)
Color 1: rgba(0,0,0,0) Stop Point 45%
Color 2: rgba(0,0,0,0.5) stop Point: 55%

One more thing, i don't know why this is happening?

1. When i click on Stiri, it is the main category where all the news are shown one after another - there is a gap (please check the image below)
