Reusable block doesn't display in editor but works on front end

I have created a reusable block ( container with 2 separators within it ).
When I try and use this when editing a page all I see is a greyed out box for the container. I do not see the actual contents.
But when I preview the page the contents display correctly.

Shouldn't I be able to see the contents when editing a page?

Thx
Alan

Hi Alan,

That's not normal behavior.

Are WP, GP, GP Premium, and GB all up to date?

Can you try disabling all plugins except GP Premium and GB to test?

Let me know!

Yes everything is brand new. Just installed a local test site ( DevKinsta ) using Nginx and php8.0. WP 6 and GPpro 2.12 and GBpro 1.12. The only other plugin installed is Simple CSS.

This was all installed specifically to test GP/GB. So far all I have done is add a couple of custom colours, one test page and the two reusable blocks.

So pretty much as basic and clean as you can get.

Thx
Alan

Hi,
I have now created another site to test this.

Please see #2256138 which is a closely related issue and has the login details.

Many thanks
Alan

Why can you only see the coloured lines on front end? Why not in edit mode when all you get is a blued out box.

That's normal, because WP's page editor doesn't load additional CSS or CSS added from plugins.

Why is there an extra thin line under the blue or red line? ( seems to vary!!! )

I don't see it. But it should be the border-bottom added to the seperator by default.

How do I reduce the gap between the lines? What controls this? I want to set it to a specific size. ie. Red=8px, gap=4px, blue=16px

GP has no control over WP's separator block.
As you are already using GenerateBlocks, why not use 2 containers blocks with borders which you can set colors and thickness within the block?

Hi,
Many thanks.
Shame about css not being seen in the editor, even when using Simple CSS on the page. Seems a major inconvenience and a huge plus for Pagebuilders.

The extra, faint, line under the separator line is still there when I look at it. But it does seem to change which line it appears under. I've no idea what could cause that, but at at least it is very minor.

Thanks for the 2 containers tip. I've used that and it works perfectly. When trying to do the same with a single container and setting the top and bottom borders - I assume that you can't set them to have different colours? My CSS for that never worked even once I'd corrected the CSS name.

Cheers
Alan

Hi there,

Container Blocks can only have a single color border at this time.

I see you have another topic open on this. I will close this and reply there.
