Reusable block changed to regular block won't publish correctly

I have cleared the cache, deactivated all plug-ins one by one, changed the reusable block to a normal block, created new reusable block, deleted old reusable blocks, changed it to regular block. But, it will not publish the block correctly. Is the save feature for the blocks not saving the block? the boxes are checked, and I hit the save box.

It appears correctly in my "edit post" mode, but the old published version will not change to the saved version in my post when I publish it.

I have removed the old version and published the new version. But, still the old version appears!!

Hi Carl,

Is there another reusable block in the reusable block?

Any chance you can provide admin access and the post link so we can have a look at the backend?

You can use the private info field to enter sensitive info.

Let me know :)

Hi Ying,
I think there was one paragraph that I inadvertently made a reusable block. The top paragraph was the one that got changed, and it disappeared. Then, I got it back into the same block, and saved it. I thought it was working.

But, I noticed the first paragraph was missing. I tried to add the paragraph into the block, and it saved. But, it will not publish anything but the block with the paragraph missing. And that paragraph is now the issue!

I did read some of your posts on reusable blocks. So, I completely retyped the whole block and saved it as a regular block, renamed it and deleted the other blocks. But it is still displayed in the reusable block section when I go to use it. That is where i got it from, and changed the block to regular block. Maybe I did it wrong?

So, I am not sure if that is correct or not? I have copied and pasted that block from other pages, onto new pages and that seemed to work. Maybe that messed things up?

I have my hosting with Wealthy Affiliate, so I just hit login and it brings up the site. I will copy my user name and put it below. After you take a look, I will change the password.

The Savage Affiliate, when you click read more, the post displays the block at the bottom of the post, and the first paragraph is missing. The pink block- scroll to bottom of post, appears right above my picture (a reusable block that works fine!)

But, if you go to "edit post" the same block appears at the bottom, complete with the first paragraph.

If you click on the + to add a block, and type "reusable" in the search bar, the block is "Purple Covid 19"

I was watching my email for a reply, but I guess I didn't check the block below. sorry for being so late to respond.

Thank you, appreciate the help. I will be out this afternoon and be back this evening. I am EST. 1:34pm here now..be back around 6pm or so.

There should NOT be any reusable block in another reusable block, it will create infinite loop.

So You should re-build this pink reusable block with pure paragraph blocks.

In this post, I moved the paragraph out of the reusable block, it's working fine now:

Hi Ying,
Thank you. I don't even know how I did that? I highlighted all the paragraphs, and clicked group?
I will do it over again.

How did you open up that tab to display all that stuff in the left column?
Thank you for your help!
Carl

Ok, I never really looked at that before....I would never have known that it shows what is inside the group like that! Cool!
Ok, so my new block is showing all paragraphs! It should be good to go!
Thank you Ying, I learned something!
I think this is resolved.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Carl

Ok, I never really looked at that before…

It's a relatively new feature, so it's totally normal if you missed it :)

Glad it's working now!

Wish you and your family Merry Christmas & happy new year!
