removing google fonts

Hi,
I'd like to completely remove google fonts because my site only uses web safe fonts.
I read this article https://docs.generatepress.com/article/remove-google-fonts/
I would like to know:
1.Where exactly do those PHP snippets go? In the customizer's additional CSS?
2. Should I paste both snippets in.

2. It's optional but might as well if you are adding the first one.

Thanks Leo. I'm using a child theme. Is it as simple as pasting both of those php snippets in the "theme functions" file in theme editor?
Just make sure it's the child theme's function.php file.
That worked and google page speed score improved. Thanks Leo.
