Christopher
Hi guys, searching my site on google shows up a text starting with the date: https://www.screencast.com/t/3kSnmkSC8pIT
I checked with my SEO tool provider and they let me know that you guys might help with that. The code generating that date is the following:
<p class="gb-headline gb-headline-9d44fb8b gb-headline-text"><time class="entry-date published" datetime="2022-07-31T10:45:00+02:00">July 31, 2022</time></p>
My question would be:
– how can I remove the date from the google search? I also wouldnt really need it displayed anywhere, so maybe I can just remove it all together?
– And I still wonder how I can change the photo that is displayed in the search. Now its the tower icon which looks bad on white background and Ive uploaded a site logo in the SEO tool which is sadly not being used by google. Does it perhaps just take some more time? Thanks

That’s the date in your News section which is built with Query loop block.
https://www.screencast.com/t/XuASenWqL7IDYou can simply delete the headline block (post date)from the query loop block.

If you are using a SEO plugin, that’s controlled by the plugin. Make sure the featured image of your homepage is your logo.

Thanks ying,
I would like to keep the date within the news section, just not having it displayed in the Google search. Is there no way to keep it in the news and remove it from Google?
Regarding the image, when I add a featured image to my homepage, it will be displayed on top of the navigation bar and ruin the complete website look, I tried that already and it looks very bad so was hoping for another way.
Thanks

I’m sorry but we can’t control Google.

There’s an option to disable the featured image in the page editor > layout metabox:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-metabox-overview/#where-is-itJust make sure the disable element is activated at appearance > Generatepress.
