remove Generatepress navigation and add elementor navigation

Hello,
I am updating an old website that uses the GeneratePress theme and Elementor.

Going through your help section, I learned that you have moved to blocks and much of this site is now a legacy. Following your online help, I have downloaded the snippets plugin and added your "to access legacy widgets" plugin. With this, I was able to remove the footer HTML from the widget.
I have also gone to Appearance > Elements and am able to "Disable Elements".
However, I am clearly missing a lot.
My first question is:
How can I remove/manipulate the existing navigation and add an Elementor navigation? I can not even seem to remove the background or other styling of the existing navigation. I do know how to add items to a menu.

Hi Thomas,
To disable the Primary Navigation in GeneratePress, you can go to Appearance > Customize > Layout > Primary Navigation, and then set the Navigation Location to No Navigation: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/primary-navigation-layout-overview/
In GeneratePress, Background Images are added in Appearance > Customize > Background Images: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/backgrounds-overview/
