remove default GP footer

Sorry I’m new to this and I’m having a hard time following the conversation. I am using GP premium. I want to get rid of the default footer and design and use a custom footer that I create. I’m using elementor pro to do that. But first I need to get rid of what comes with GP. Can anyone tell me what procedure I can follow to do this?
Thanks!
Hi there,
You can create a layout element to disable the footer globally:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#disable-element
Let me know if this helps :)
That did help. I was able to get rid of the default footer. Thank you. However, I'm now trying to do this for the header and the steps don't appear to be the same. I'm going to go through the documentation to try to figure this out, but if you have any info on this I would greatly appreciate it. You've saved me a headache for sure!
I'm going to create a new topic
Sounds good :)
