Remove Author Link From Posts

I've added the PHP from this page (https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_post_author_output/#remove-link) to a code snippet on my blog, but the author link is still showing for all posts when you hover over the author name.

I cleared the cache with Autoptimize, but still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Sorry Leo, not quite sure what you mean. I'm using elements, the one that controls the post header with the author link is this one:
