Remove author from posts when using Read template

I am using the Read template from the Site Library. I have tried to remove the author by going to Appearance > Elements and editing the Blog Post Header to remove the {{post_author}} tag as indicated in the Support thread here. It hasn't worked. I also used this link showing how from the Support thread here.
Please help. The purpose of this site is a high school online newspaper. The articles are written by different students and I am uploading them (for now). Eventually, the students will upload the articles themselves. Until that happens, I don't want myself (scott35) listed on the articles. Hi there,
the front page is built using the WP Show Posts plugin. You would need to edit each of the List in Dashboard > WP Show Posts and uncheck Include Author from the Meta Tab.
