Regular editor to style the Taxonomy description

As you know, the regular editor for the taxonomy pages is plain simple

Question is; in your opinion what would be the better way (long term solution) to have a full editor?, using a plugin?, a Hook?, ACF fields?
Plus if you have a suggested plugin that would be great

I don't have a ton of experience with solutions for this kind of thing. If ACF offers a solution, I would trust them - great plugin.
