Redundant links

Why does the GP still have redundant links? And now I open 2.0 beta, and there they are again. This is very bad from the point of view of SEO-lost Page Rank (page weight). Rather, only part of the weight is transferred. I hope you understand what I mean.
I will explain:
For example, the menu consists of the categories of "phones", "laptops" and "tablets". For example, if I am in the "notebooks" category, then the link to the "notebooks" category active again! This should not be.
Or another example:
The menu has a "contacts" page. If you enter this page, the "contacts" button is still active. It is only highlighted.
The buttons of the pages or categories in which we are already located should not remain active!

Please, eliminate in GP 2.0 this defect. Make sure that the links in which we are already located are not highlighted, but are inactive.

Hi there,

If I understand correctly, this is how WordPress operates. I think it's the same with all themes, as we all use core WordPress functions which result in this same behavior.

Do you have any sources for this being bad for SEO?

Thanks!

Not with all the themes. For example, you can look at the "BASIC" theme, there is no such problem.
This is bad for SEO, because some of the weight of the page is sent back to the same page through these active links.
Sources where it is written in detail about the harm of such a situation on seo is, but they are not in English, so there is no point in showing them to you.

Interesting - I'll look into it.

I don't believe it's possible to use the WordPress menu system and de-link the current page, but I'll look into that as well.

Thanks!
