Reduce number of posts on Home screen

Hello,
I am using Recent posts instead of a static page for HOME page. Is it possible to reduce the number of posts per page?
The current view looks very messy. Please help.

That's controlled by WordPress.
Check Dashboard > Settings > Readings.
