Recreate custom footer from stream

Greetings,
I'm trying to recreate the footer from stream, following the youtube video. But, I get an error as soon as I try to "save draft" or "publish". I'm able to create container and hook block site footer for entire site.
I create container and change background color to black and hit save draft and I get, "Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response."
I checked for a plugin conflict by disabling all plugins except for GP and GB and I still receive the error. I contacted hosting and I was told that this is a plugin error as well.
Please advise, thank you.

there are many mixed reasons for why this error occurs. Ranging from permalinks, plugin conflicts to server setup
Are you using any cache or security plugins on your site ? If you do try disabling them and retest.

It's fixed, it was a firewall issue. More specifically Cloudflare's WAF. For anyone else that happens to run into this issue Cloudflare was blocking the path /wp-json/wp/v2/* which has elements auto-save feature.
Odd, I've used quite a few GP elements in the past.
