It seems that Elements can be deleted (trashed), but there is no way to restore them, because the elements trash tab is not enabled. It would be nice to have the option to send Elements to trash and restore them, if needed.
I haven’t deleted anything. All I did was make a change in the Global Header element from type “element” to type “page.” Then the Global Header disappeared from the Element List in the Admin and from all pages using the Global Header.
There was a Global Header element (it is now gone). But when you edited it in the Admin area, there was a Publish section in the top right. It was set to element. But, it also had the option of setting it to Page or Post. I was trying to work it out on my own so I changed it to page and hit Update.
I’ve just noticed that the Global Page Headers element was moved to a page called by that name. So it isn’t listed as an element anymore. And because it’s only a page, it no longer has all of the settings like Heroes, etc.
The option to change the Element Type to Post or Page must be a feature of a plugin – its not part of WP by default.
Elements are a Custom Post Type – by changing it to a page you basically have ‘broken’ the post.
If you wanted the element to be displayed on Pages then you would set that in the Elements Display Rules.
It may be best to raise a new topic, so as the OP doesn’t get bombarded with notifications.
