Recent Posts Grid ... Use GenerateBlocks Now?

I want to put post grids on pages that show the the 5 most recent posts on a related subject, using category or tag taxonomy to populate.
Right now, I am using WPXPO PostX to do this, and it works pretty well. However, I would prefer to use a GP product to accomplish this and ditch the PostX plugin.
I know you used to recommend WP Show Posts for recent post grids. However, has such functionality been rolled into GenerateBlocks since WP Show Posts is being EOLed? If so, can you point me to documentation showing how to do this? I've search the GP, Premium, and GB sites (all of which I already use) and can't find anything.

Hi Patrick,
We are working hard to merge WPSP with GenerateBlocks, the new release can be expected in Q1 2022.
For now I think you can keep using whatever you are happy with :)
