Read Theme: Can't Change "Button" and "Highlight" Color From Red [Help]

Hello,
I'm (very) new to all of this, so I'm certain the fix is a simple one ...
Check out the "Read" theme in the stock library: https://generatepress.com/site-library/
At the top, do you see the red boxes with "Culture," "Design," "Development," etc. written in 'em?
Also, do you see those small, red lines next to just about everything on the homepage: "Subscribe," "Categories," "Featured Article," etc.?
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to change those from red to another color ...
All other colors, I've been able to change - but not THAT stuff.
Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!

Hi there,
those colors are directly to the individual Blocks on that page. If you edit the page, select a button you can change its Colors. Or select a Headline block and change its Border Color.
BUT - they are using a Global Color that is set in the Customizer > Colors --> Global Colors, so if you change those colors they will automatically update ALL elements using them. These are the specific colors in the pallet they are using:
The red color is the --accent
the grey hover is the --contrast-2

I can't seem to get the red line under "Subscribe" at the top to change colors - everything else has been fixed.
I went in to "Global Colors," but couldn't quite figure out how to change the "accent" color for the theme ...
That's the only color I want to change.
I deleted it, but that's it.
Help me with that, and I should be good to go ...

I can’t seem to get the red line under “Subscribe” at the top to change colors – everything else has been fixed.
It's using the global color accentas well, you can either change the accent color at customizer > colors, or find this CSS in customizer > additional CSS and change the color there (blue box):

My fear is that once I make this specific color the accent color, that it'll break everything I did manually ...
Could that be the case?

The global color is there to reduce manual work, so I think it's better to switch to global color sooner or later :)
