Read More Button Blog

Hello we were looking at our site today and just noticed that the read more buttons are not all displaying on our blog all of the sudden any idea why? Some do towards the top but the further you go down they dissapear

Are you using custom excerpt for the those posts without read more button?

No I don't believe so, how would I confirm that? Only setting that I have ticked is under layout, blog, display read more as button
Actually I do see someone went and must have changed these, this would have had to be done manually correct? It wouldnt automatically grab this data?
You can go to one of the post that doesn't have read more button, click edit post, check the custom excerpt field (you can refer to the first image in the blow link):
