READ logo

Hi,
I am hoping to use the READ site from the Site Library. The site logo will need to be changed but when I click 'edit image' in the WP Media library the message comes back that "Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image."
I imagine that I need to get myself a program to edit SVG files but am unsure as I can not find anything in the documentation that covers the READ theme. Can you recommend any resources for me to read up / resolve this, please?

do not edit the image.
Instead upload your new logo and then go to Customizer > Site Identity and add your new logo.

Would the replacement image need to be SVG also or can I replace it with a normal image and change the customiser setting? I don't have a program that would create a SVG.
Yes, you can use a JPEG or PNG image :)
