Re-build website without pulling off of Net

Hi Tom,
I have a client that I'd like to do a site redesign (esp the home page), but don't want to take it offline if I can help it. Do you know a way to do that? Whenever I've installed generate press over another theme, I had to build from scratch and pull the site offline if I didn't want people to see a half-finished site.
Hi there,
The best way to do this is to take a copy of their website and put it on a staging server. That way you can build the new site without affecting the live site.
Once the new site is ready, you can migrate it over to the live site using a plugin like Duplicator.
Thanks, Tom. Actually, is there a chance you'd be up for tweaking a home page design? It'll take some coding, which I'm not skilled at.
If so, I'll email a mockup design. It's for montanastravelagency.com.
Best,
Kammy
We don't have the resources for custom jobs right now, unfortunately.
However, it might be worth checking out codeable.io :)
Thanks, Tom -- very appreciated! :)
No problem :)
Hello,
Pardon me. I've just started building my site and completed only 2% of it. Now I feel that I should build it offline to avoid making interruptions to others if someone goes then online. Am I thinking in the right way? Should I build it offline and then move it online? How to do that? Does everyone do it? What is the best practice?
Thanks,
Imran
