Thanks, I have tried from scratch with a new Content Template element and then used one of the 7 templates that are offered to get some content in. I then went to the Display Rules section, selected Post and All Posts and saved it. When I add a new post, it is empty - but it should have that template in it now - correct? Not sure if I missed a step.

I think I've replied this same question in your other topic, I'll do it again.
This is normal behavior, the template won't show in post editor/backend, it applies to the front end.

I don't think we have templates for single post, all the templates are for blog/archives. Just make sure to choose contentinstead of excerpt in the dynamic content block if you are using a pre-built template.

Ah ok thanks, I get it now :) cheers

No problem :)

Hey Ying, hope you are well!

I am back to my post template now after finishing some other things first.

My aim is to set up a template and define fonts, bold/italic etc through a template and then just change the content of the text boxes that I pre defined that way. Sadly I dont manage to get there just yet.

Within my "Content Template" Elements, only the Paragraph lets me choose fonts, put text bold etc but it wil not be dynamic anymore.

And I use the Dynamic boxes as highlighted in red here, I will not be able to change their formatting:

I would also like to position the text elements differently, for iunstance have the first paragraph left aligned with a picture on the right, then another one without picutre aligned center and a third one with a picture on the left and text aligned on the right side. If I use the Dynamic content for that, I can only choose "Post content" for all of them ,meaning they will all display the same. How can I have multiple different dynamic sections or is that not possible?

So I am still wondering how I can set this scenario up, maybe you can give me another hint :) And I hope it makes sense what I am trying to do, I feel like I am confusing myself slowly haha.

Thanks,
Chris

What you're trying to do is not what Content Templates were built for and they cannot achieve that.

Simply put - anything you will be editing in your Post must ONLY be edited in the Post.
You cannot include it in the Content Template, and you cannot define the individual element ( H2, H3, Paragraph ) styles it will have within the Content Template.

If you want to have a predefined templated layout for your posts, create a new draft post, and build your layout with placeholder text and images. Then when you write a new post, copy out that content and paste it into the new post.

Thanks David, will do it like that then.

That explains why I could not get it to work haha.

Cheers,
Chris

You're welcome

Hi David,

I am setting up my draft post to use as a copy/paste template now. For that I had to remove my "Block - Content Template" Elements page that I previously tried to use as a template.

One thing that this Block did was to remove the headline out of the actual blog post because I am displaying it in the blog post header already. See screenshot below, what would be the best way to remove the display of that H1 Header from the actual blog post (highlighted in yellow)

Ah true I still have my header page hero one, thanks that worked.

I wonder why the lightbox image in the post is not clickable and pop up wont work like it does in the main site? The image is set up the same way as it is in the main site:

Glad to hear that.

Can you raise new topic regarding the lightbox and provide a link to where we can see the issue .

Thanks, sure will do that in a bit :)
