Question about search page.

Hi Tom,
I am just wondering if I can customize search results page. I am using default WordPress engine, and need to change the search result in different shape for better user experience. My concern is that if I change search.php file of GeneratePress, then it would be deleted every time whenever I update new version of GeneratePress. Currently using child theme, but curious how to upload customized search.php. Thanks 🙂

Hi there,

What exactly are you wanting to do to it?

You can copy the current search.php file over to your child theme and you won’t have to worry about updates.

I thought I needed to do something special to change the search results page since I am usually doing like that when I make a page by choosing a certain page template.
