Question about recent blog posts and deleting preview words from blog post

I have a blog page and it's pulling up all of my recent blog posts, which is what I want, but it's pulling about 100 word preview of each blog post. Is there a way to get rid of all the words and allow just a featured image + title of the blog post to be shown?

Have you tried setting the excerpt word count to 0?

I tried that and set it to zero, but it didn't change anything.
