Question about child theme and GPP update stability

I'm building a custom website with GPP and Woocommerce and I'm wondering if there will be a problem in the future when there are updates or upgrades to either GPP or Woocommerce? Will my site be safe or should I be using a child theme? Thanks.
Hi there,
Your site will be safe.
The only time you need a child theme is when you're making code changes to the core theme files.
