Problems with re-usable blocks

Hi Jeff,

One thing to check here is to make sure you don't have re-usable blocks inside re-usable blocks. In WordPress 5.7, they made it so a re-usable block is actually a wrapper to the blocks inside, so errors like this can happen when you go to add another re-usable block while still inside this re-usable block wrapper (instead of inserting it under the re-usable block).

I have tried my best to insert a reusable block but can't. When I hover over the blocks when trying to add them they show up blank.

Hi Jeff,

It's quite difficult to know what exactly happened with the blocks especially knowing the changes made with WordPress 5.7.

Since 5.7 though, a reusable block can be directly edited. There's no separate edit mode. It might be that you were accidentally removing the block inside the reusable block if you had the wrong block selected, and then saving that change would update the reusable block everywhere.

It's possible that you've accidentally deleted the content of the reusable block when you were editing the page, thinking it wouldn't have any effect on the saved reusable block.

This appears on the page you're editing when you've made changes to the reusable block within the page and you've clicked "Update" for the post to update. https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnuYAoYb

If you've clicked "save", it's possible that you've overwritten the reusable block to be empty.
