Problem with thumbnail size.

My old theme always created a version of the 375x175 size images and used them as thumbnails in the archives and homepage. Example:
2017/07/sinais-375x175.jpg
But now in this new theme, in the pages of the files the image in focus does is pull the original image and create a link similar to this:
2017/07/sinais.jpg?resize=375%2C175&ssl=1
How do I set the theme to do just like it used to? Use the 375x175 images in the archives, categories and home page as a thumbnail instead of using resize?
This resize is disrupting the loading of the site, taking up to 3 seconds to generate these images ... Decreasing my score in gmtrix and pingdom
That looks like you're using Photon inside Jetpack.
You can disable that, then use the featured image sizing options in Customize > Layout > Blog.
