Problem with background image not displaying in merged header element
1 reply · Started by Paul on January 28, 2022
My site is no longer displaying the merged header image on all pages apart from the home page. I have tried adjusting the settings in the merge header element but it doesn't seem to be making any difference. I updated to wordpress 5.9 but the problem was there before that. I thought updating the WP version would rectify but it hasn't. I do not code and cannot look at my code to see what's going on! Any help/suggestions gratefully recieved!
Thanks.

Hi Paul,
Looking at the 2 sample page, the issue seems to be because there's no page-hero content for the header image to overlay on.
Here's a suggestion.
Consider copying the first Container block section of your home page's content to the other pages. And then modify background and the text for each of the pages.
Another suggestion would be:
If you want the contents of the first section that appears on each page to be dynamically changing, consider setting up a Block Element - Page Hero for all of the pages. (More about Block element - page hero here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/)
The point of these suggestion is so there's a content similar to the home page's first section for the merge header image to overlay on. :)
