Problem with Archive summaries

I'm having a problem with my archive pages. I have them set to show summaries but random posts display as a full post.
For example, the third page of the main blog archive. The second entry is showing the full post. The same thing is happening with certain posts in the category archives.
Any ideas why this is happening?

do any of these posts have a different Post Format set ?
As WP only displays Excerpts on Standard formats by default.

Or alternatively use the More tag in your other post formats.
No. They are using the same format as other posts which are fine.

The 'Waterfall Card Featuring Illustrations of British Birds' post for example is set to Video Format.

Thanks, David, you're a star! That was exactly the problem! I'd checked the theme post formats but not the inbuilt Wordpress ones. Thanks for your help!
